Job Overview

Shrub Care Co is hiring a Landscape Laborer to join our landscape maintenance team.

This is a part-time position with consistent full-day shifts. Team members are expected to work at least two full days per week (Monday–Friday). Hours may vary by season, with reduced availability during winter months.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is eager to learn, and wants to build hands-on skills across a variety of landscape tasks.

What You'll Do

Assist specialists with mowing, pruning, weeding, and general landscape maintenance

Perform digging, planting, and removal tasks as directed

Help with seasonal cleanup including leaf removal and snow removal

Keep job sites clean and professional

Learn company procedures and apply them consistently

Communicate respectfully with team members and customers when needed

Team Work

We work in small crews (typically 2–3 people). Laborers support the team across all landscape tasks and work under the direction of a Specialist or Supervisor.

All team members assist with general landscape work such as mowing, weeding, pruning, seasonal cleanup, and seasonal snow removal.

Driving & Equipment

Drive a company pickup (with trailer) to job sites

Operate hand tools and basic landscape equipment safely

Help maintain vehicles and equipment

Training is available for towing and equipment use if needed.

Schedule

Part-time position

At least 2 full workdays per week required

Full-day shifts (typically 8 hours)

Monday–Friday availability

Hours vary by season

Pay & Growth

Starting pay: $15.25–$17.00 per hour

Raises based on reliability, performance, and training progress

Paid on-the-job training

Requirements

Valid driver's license

Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication

Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Communicate clearly with team members and customers

Preferred (not required):

Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience

Experience driving a pickup with a trailer

Applicants should be able to meet standard hiring requirements (including driving record and background criteria).

Work Environment

Outdoor work in changing weather conditions

Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion

Some tasks (such as digging, snow removal, or seasonal cleanup) may be physically demanding
